For all grommets and aspiring surfers, we offer the coolest lessons to conquer the North Sea. With us, you'll not only learn how to catch that first wave, but also how to do it like a pro and super safely. Our instructors assess your current skill level so you learn a new move in every lesson.

Kids Skates
At Hart Beach, you learn that skating is much more than just a board under your feet. During our skate lessons for kids, we focus on balance, control, and very importantly, safety. Our experienced coaches teach you exactly how to brake, steer, and swerve, so you can safely hit the streets.
What does a surf lesson look like?
At Hart Beach, we step into another world for 90 minutes. Accompanied by our experienced instructors (max. 6 kids per group), you will learn to understand the sea and conquer the waves. Whether it's summer or winter: we have the gear (board, wetsuit, boots) and you have the energy!
Here's what you'll learn:
- Safety first: Everything about the sea, the rules, and how to safely get through the surf.
- Board control: How do you stay in control of your board in the waves?
- Pop-up: The technique of standing up and riding your first waves.
- Flow: Improve your posture and surfing style with every session.
Voor wie?
For children between 6 and 12 years old who have a swimming certificate.
What does a Skatelesson look like?
During our 1.5-hour lessons, you'll transform the Scheveningen boulevard or the hHart Beach Skatebowl into your own skate park. We'll delve into technique: we'll analyze your moves and give you truly useful tips, so you immediately feel more in control after the lesson.
Whether you're a beginner or ready for more of a challenge, our instructors will give you that extra push.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is a swimming certificate mandatory to participate in the surf lesson/camps?
Ja, als jouw kind wil meedoen aan het surfcamp moet hij/zij in het bezit zijn van zwemdiploma A (of een vergelijkbaar buitenlands diploma).
Where are you located and where can I park?
Hart Beach Surfschool is located on Scheveningen beach, on the north side of the pier at the southern end of the Boulevard. Address: Strandweg 3B, 2586 JK Scheveningen.
There is a Q-Park to be found on Strandweg.
On sunny days and weekends, it can be busy. For an up-to-date overview of parking options, we refer you to The Hague's parking information.
What if the weather is bad?
Safety comes first. Every Sunday before the camp starts, we make an assessment and plan based on the weather. In case of bad weather, we opt for alternative activities, such as a visit to a museum or an indoor skate park.
What if there are no waves?
Als er geen golven zijn, organiseren we andere leuke wateractiviteiten zoals suppen of skimboarden. Daarnaast doen we ook actieve strandactiviteiten zoals beachgames en andere spelletjes.
Are the supervisors and surf instructors experienced enough?
The surf camps are led by an experienced camp leader, together with a team of enthusiastic supervisors and certified surf instructors. All instructors hold a first aid and lifeguard diploma. We work with small groups, so there is always sufficient supervision in the water. In addition, there is extra supervision on the beach for activities, photos, and rest breaks. This ensures there is always sufficient supervision, both in the water and on the beach.
What should my child bring?
Zwemkleding, een handdoek, een extra T-shirt, een warme trui, sokken, dichte schoenen (voor het skateboarden), een lange broek en een eigen drinkfles. En natuurlijk een big smile!
Do you have showers and changing rooms?
We have changing rooms with showers and lockers. These are primarily intended for guests of the surf school and the restaurant. Do you have your own surf equipment? Then enjoy a snack or drink at our restaurant – that way you'll also be one of our guests! 😊
Are the lockers free?
De lockers zijn gratis als je je eigen slot meeneemt. Heb je geen slot, dan kun je er één kopen aan de balie voor €5,00.
