Are you someone who gets energized by a well-organized webshop, flawless product data, and a website that not only looks great, but actually works? Do you enjoy taking independent responsibility for the online environment of a growing surf company? Then we are looking for you.

Hart Beach is a family business and the ultimate surf spot in Scheveningen. With a surf shop, surf school, and restaurant, we combine everything related to the surf lifestyle. From our seaside locations, we work every day to deliver an awesome experience for our guests, both on the beach and online.

Last year, a new website and webshop were launched, and now it is time to optimize our e-commerce. Our ambition is clear: grow our webshop and build it into Europe's largest webshop for surf hardware. To achieve this, we are looking for an independent and precise Website & Webshop Manager who ensures our online store is content-wise, technically, and commercially spot on.

What will you do?

As a Website & Webshop Manager, you take full responsibility for Hart Beach's online store. You are the backend boss and ensure that products, collections, content, and data are correct, appealing, and published on time.

Your tasks include:

  • Managing the complete Shopify Webshop: products, collections, navigation, search function, filters, and theme sections.
  • Creating and processing large volumes of products, both manually and via bulk import.
  • Daily processing of incoming purchase orders for both locations.
  • Managing product content from A to Z: copy, specifications, images, variants, prices, inventory, and metafields.
  • Ensuring new collections, sale launches, and campaigns are set live correctly, localized, and on time.
  • Managing digital shelf space and improving the online customer journey.
  • Optimizing product and category pages for SEO and generative search.
  • Managing URLs, redirects, sitemaps, tracking, and other technical elements of the website.
  • Identifying and resolving issues before customers experience them, in collaboration with our online marketer.
  • Implementing technical and commercial improvements in the webshop, such as custom tools for surfboards and wetsuits.
  • Working with Shopify theme settings, content, merchandising, and apps.
  • Creating Shopify Flows for automation and more efficient processes.
  • Generating reports and insights on the webshop, products, and online sales.
  • Managing all website pages, including the surf school, restaurant, events, and beach shop.
  • Collecting and processing copy, photos, and other content in collaboration with colleagues from various departments.
  • Brainstorming and executing online campaigns, promotions, and new product launches.
  • Collaborating with our external online marketer for Google Ads and online optimization.
  • Collaborating with the social media and newsletter marketer.
  • Contributing to the development of a loyalty program, AI assistant, new gift card system, and future system integrations with suppliers.

Your responsibility

You will work mostly independently. You maintain the quality of our online environment and ensure the webshop is spot on every day: from a single product page to a major collection or sale launch.

You don't need to wait for approval for every single change. You spot what needs to be done, create a plan, and execute it yourself. At the same time, you're not on your own. You work together with colleagues from the shop, surf school, hospitality, and marketing. Together, you ensure Hart Beach is just as strong and welcoming online as our beach location.

No two days are the same. One day you're dealing with product data and inventory, the next you're refining a product page, building an automation, or working on a new online campaign.

What are we looking for in you?

You are precise, independent, and practical. You enjoy creating structure within large volumes of data, but also have an eye for design, user experience, and commercial appeal.

Furthermore:

  • You have experience with a webshop platform and/or CMS.
  • You have experience with Shopify; this is a major plus. You are comfortable with Shopify themes, sections, metafields, markets, languages, redirects, products, and collections. You can read Liquid and make minor adjustments. You do not need to build a complete Shopify theme from scratch.
  • You are proficient with Excel and ideally familiar with Matrixify.
  • You are interested in AI and enjoy discovering new tools and applications.
  • You preferably have experience with Mailchimp or another email marketing system.
  • You have knowledge of HTML and CSS; front-end development experience is a bonus.
  • Experience with APIs, marketplaces like Amazon and Bol.com, CRO, A/B testing, technical SEO, Google Ads, or Meta is a plus.
  • You work independently, structured, and solution-oriented.
  • You aren't afraid to ask questions, but you also investigate things on your own.
  • Affinity with surfing, outdoor, retail, or the beach lifestyle is a plus.
  • You speak and write fluent Dutch and English.

What you get in return

  • An independent and versatile role with plenty of responsibility.
  • A job for 36 - 38 hours per week at a unique location by the harbor and the sea.
  • An informal work environment within an ambitious and growing family business.
  • Great colleagues and fun team drinks/social events.
  • Plenty of room to improve processes and develop your own ideas.
  • Exciting challenges around e-commerce, AI, automation, loyalty, and international growth.
  • The opportunity to help build our ambition to become Europe's largest surf hardware webshop.
  • A salary in accordance with the Retail collective labor agreement (CAO Retail), depending on experience and responsibilities.
  • Employee discount across the Hart Beach concept and free use of surf school gear.
  • A workplace where the ocean is literally your backyard and no two days are the same.

Practical information

  • Location: Scheveningen, on-site
  • Hours: 36 - 38 hours per week
  • A gross salary ranging from €2,975 to €3,600 per month, including 8% holiday allowance, depending on experience and knowledge.
  • Start date: preferably October 1, 2026
  • Can't start right away? We'd be happy to schedule a few onboarding days in October, possibly on weekends.
  • Job interviews: September 29 and 30
