The PG-R is the most important board in your quiver. It's the board you'll be surfing 80% of the time in less-than-ideal waves, so it needs to be excellent.

It's a board designed for average, everyday surf. It's fast with easy paddling and wave catching, incorporating elements of the Comp model for performance and the Summer 5 for speed and stoke. In short, the model was intended as a Performance Groveller - capable of skating over flat sections, yet competent in critical sections.

The unexpected byproduct is a board that lends itself to progression. It's stable and reassuring, giving you the confidence to push harder. It generates and carries speed which you can convert into big turns or airs. You can put it on a rail and it will give back tenfold. It's a board that allows you to improve your game, regardless of the conditions.
