Torq The Don XL TEC - FCS II - 2 + 1 Fin - Longboard

Modern longboarding features a variation in skill and style that is found in almost no other sport.

Depending on the surfer, the wave, or the board, it's either a dance or a martial art. A truly modern high-performance longboard must be able to do all of that.

The Don is stable on the nose, straight and fast through the middle, and lively in the tail. The Don XL is the version with more volume for heavier surfers, a bit more nose-focused for more stable nose rides, but still super sensitive in the tail.

The added benefit of the Torq TEC construction – lightweight, strong, and super-fast in response – makes that wide repertoire of maneuvers easier and more dynamic.

Construction - TEC

Torq Epoxy Composite offers performance shapes in Torq's vacuum epoxy lay-up. Vacuum epoxy uses a manual lay-up process, with a vacuum process that bonds the fiber to the board and removes excess resin. Torq has a few tricks in that vacuum process that keep the resin content at a much better level than is normally achievable.

What are the benefits?

Additional layers of fiber can be added while keeping the total weight low – Torq's shortboards have 18oz fiber on the deck and 10oz on the bottom, about double what you find on most boards of the same weight.

The result is both lightweight and durable. The weight is close to that of a PU, but there's much more fiber and more layers reinforcing the rail.

How do they surf?

The performance is very direct – TEC responds immediately, which works out especially well in smaller or weaker waves. In bigger waves, the advantage is that they break much less easily.

If you're used to a PU, they'll feel fast at first. After a few sessions, your old PU will feel very sluggish!

Torq's team riders report that their boards last approximately 2 to 4 times longer than their previous boards.
