Torq The Don NR TEC - FCS II - 2 + 1 Fin - Longboard

The Don Nose Rider is a blend of the all-round performance Don model and a more traditional noserider.

Up front, it features a wide nose, a low entry rocker, and a teardrop concave – a guaranteed combination for stability and time on the tip. But unlike a traditional noserider with soft, rounded rails and a V-bottom, the Don NR combines a hard rail with a double concave V in the tail, typical of a more modern longboard.

This combination merges the best of a traditional noserider with the best of a modern longboard, in a lightweight and super strong epoxy package. It turns out you can please everyone at once.

Construction - TEC

Torq Epoxy Composite offers performance shapes in Torq's vacuum epoxy lay-up. Vacuum epoxy involves a hand lay-up process, with a vacuum process that bonds the fiber to the board and removes excess resin. Torq has a few tricks in that vacuum process that keep the resin content at a much better level than is normally achievable.

What are the benefits?

Extra layers of fiber can be added while keeping the total weight low – Torq's shortboards have 18oz fiber on the deck and 10oz on the bottom, about double what you'd find on most boards of the same weight.

The result is lightweight yet durable. The weight is close to that of a PU, but it contains much more fiber and has more layers reinforcing the rail.

How do they surf?

The performance is very direct – TEC responds immediately, which works particularly well in smaller or weaker waves. In larger waves, the advantage is that they break much less easily.

If you're used to a PU, they'll feel fast at first. After a few sessions, your old PU will feel very slow!

Torq's team riders report that their boards last about 2 to 4 times longer than their previous boards.
