Torq Delpero Twin TEC - FCS II - 3 Fin - Mid-Length
Description
A high-performance and easy-to-surf mid-length. Its very fluid outline and easy, boxy rails make it inherently flowy and forgiving, allowing you to surf it in all conditions. But it's not just made for cruising: the rocker and lift in the tail, combined with a preference for a twin fin setup, make it very agile.
As a daily driver, it's a glider that catches waves and changes direction easily. Edouard also surfs it at home in heavy conditions – the loose twin fin setup frees up the tail for quick corrections in the barrel.
“As a twin fin, your foot placement needs to be spot on. But get ready to take high lines, generate speed, and carve your way back into the curl!” – Edouard Delpero
Fin(s) included: None.
Construction - TEC
Torq Epoxy Composite offers performance shapes in a vacuum epoxy layup. With vacuum epoxy, the laminate is applied by hand, after which a vacuum process bonds the fibers to the board and extracts excess resin. Torq uses a few proprietary tricks in the vacuum process, which keeps the resin content significantly lower than normally achievable.
What are the benefits?
Additional layers of fiber can be added while keeping the total weight low – Torq shortboards have 18oz of fiber on the deck and 10oz on the bottom, about double what you find on most boards of the same weight.
The result is light yet durable. The weight is comparable to a PU, but with much more fiber and more layers reinforcing the rails.
How do they surf?
The performance is very direct – TEC responds immediately, which works particularly well in smaller or weaker waves. In larger waves, the advantage is that they break much less easily.
If you're used to a PU, they will feel fast at first. After a few sessions, your old PU will feel very slow!
Torq's team riders report that their boards last about 2 to 4 times longer than their previous boards.
About Torq
Torq is known for epoxy surfboards that combine low weight and high strength, from accessible all-rounders to high-performance shapes developed with renowned shapers. Each construction – TET, TEC, or ACT – has its own character, but they are all built to last. This makes Torq boards a good fit for Hart Beach: boards that can withstand daily use in the North Sea and work for every skill level.
