Torq Delpero Pro TEC - FCS II - 2 + 1 - Longboard
Description
“One of the main reasons I wanted to collaborate with Torq Surfboards is to push the boundaries of longboarding: riding barrels, attacking waves, and not worrying too much about breaking my magic board.” – Edouard Delpero.
This is the model on which Edouard won his Surf Relik World longboard title in 2019.
Edouard and Alain worked on this shape to find the perfect balance between modern and classic longboarding.
The aggressive outline and rocker allow you to maneuver the board to your highest level, while the lift keeps your nose rides locked into critical sections of the wave.
This model took Edouard to the top of the 2019 Relik World Longboard Tour, earning him four WSL European titles and a win at the 2021 WSL Cuervo Surf Ranch Classic, with smooth, progressive lines and critical nose rides.
Fin(s) included: None.
Construction - TEC
Torq Epoxy Composite offers performance shapes in a vacuum-epoxy layup. Vacuum-epoxy involves hand lamination, after which a vacuum process binds the fiber to the board and extracts excess resin. Torq has a few tricks in this vacuum process that keep the resin content much lower than normally achievable.
What are the advantages?
Torq can add extra layers of fiber and still keep the total weight low: Torq's shortboards have 18oz of fiber on the deck and 10oz on the bottom, about double what you'd find on most boards of the same weight.
The result is light and durable. The weight is comparable to that of a PU board, but it contains much more fiber and has more layers for rail reinforcement.
How do they surf?
The performance is very direct: TEC reacts immediately, which works particularly well in smaller or weaker waves. In larger waves, the advantage is that they break much less easily.
If you're used to PU, they will feel fast at first. After a few sessions, your old PU will feel very slow!
Torq's team riders report that their boards last about 2 to 4 times longer than their previous boards.
About Torq
Torq is a European surfboard brand known for its epoxy and EPS constructions: TET, TET-CS, TEC, and ACT. The brand builds shapes for every level, from first waves to competition longboards for team riders like Edouard Delpero, always with an emphasis on light weight and high strength. At Hart Beach, this fits perfectly: boards that withstand the North Sea year after year without sacrificing performance.
