Torq Delpero Classic TEC - Single Fin - Longboard

Alain Minvielle gained extensive shaping experience in California and has a fine sense for the flow and glide of the classic style. With input from Edouard, he created a Classic shape inspired by the classic 1960s longboard model (without an edge), complemented by a more modern bottom line: the perfect cruiser with surprising maneuverability.

The crucial part of this design lies in the rocker and volume distribution. The curve of the rocker allows you to hold nose rides in the pocket while gliding just as well in small conditions as in larger waves. And thanks to the unique volume distribution across the board, from a thick nose to a thin tail, you can elegantly cross-step and turn easily.

Construction - TEC

Torq Epoxy Composite offers performance shapes in a vacuum-epoxy layup. Vacuum-epoxy involves hand lamination, after which a vacuum process binds the fiber to the board and extracts excess resin. Torq has a few tricks in this vacuum process that keep the resin content much lower than normally achievable.

What are the benefits?

Torq can add extra layers of fiber and still keep the total weight low: Torq's shortboards have 18oz fiber on the deck and 10oz on the bottom, about double what you'd find on most boards of the same weight.

The result is both light and durable. The weight is comparable to that of a PU board, but there's much more fiber in it and more layers to reinforce the rail.

How do they surf?

The performance is very direct: TEC reacts immediately, which works particularly well in smaller or weaker waves. In larger waves, the advantage is that they break much less often.

If you're used to PU, they might feel fast at first. After a few sessions, your old PU will feel very slow!

Torq's team riders report that their boards last about 2 to 4 times longer than their previous boards.
