The name SHAKALOHA comes from the Hawaiian language and is a combination of the two words SHAKA and ALOHA. 

The shaka is a Hawaiian hand gesture that is also frequently used in the surfing scene. It involves extending your little finger and thumb whilst keeping the other fingers curled. Aloha can mean many things, but it primarily stands for happiness and joy, and sharing these feelings with others. In the logo, you can see two Shaka signs coming together, symbolising people greeting one another with the pure joy and passion of life.
That is why Shakaloha is much more than just a brand; Shakaloha embodies a positive lifestyle and aims to inspire people to live out their passions, follow their dreams, and share their love for everything that excites them, without causing any harm to their fellow human beings or the planet.

After owning skate and surf shops for almost 10 years, Shakaloha founder André Blom launched the brand in 2008. With his passion for designing and selling clothing, travelling and surfing, he decided to combine it all.
