ROAM Tech PLUS Shortboard Boardbag

Roam's flagship design just got even better. The TECH PLUS is the extended, high-quality bag with 10mm padding and ripstop protection, now with new upgrades: the zipper has become a YKK molded zip, a heavy-duty zipper normally only used for travel coffins. And one side of the outer layer has been replaced with a strong woven silver reflective material that keeps the bag cool and is extra durable. The expandable tail section, the buckle-free detachable shoulder strap with 3 attachment points, and the wetsuit pocket have remained standard.

This is a serious bag for anyone who wants to give their board extra daily protection or travel light for a focused surf trip. Roam bags are cut longer, so a bag fits the board it's labeled for. A 6'8 bag will fit any size up to and including 6'8.

About size and shape

Most board bags come in different shapes to match the type of surfboard: fish, shortboard, longboard, and so on. The main difference is in the shape of the nose and the width. In doubt? Choose a board bag with a wider nose. A shortboard fits perfectly into a fish bag, and for two surfboards, extra space is only convenient.

A ROAM board bag is designed to fit the board it is labeled for: a 6'8 board fits in a 6'8 bag. If the bag itself is 6'8" long, it's actually a 6'6 bag. Not all brands do this, so double-check.

The width is also important, especially if you're packing 2 or more surfboards.

Also pay attention to the shape of the tail and whether there is a tail box or an expandable fin pocket so you can put a surfboard with fins in it. Always remove fins when traveling by plane.
