ROAM Tech PLUS Longboard Board Bag

ROAM's flagship product just got even better. The TECH PLUS is the versatile, high-quality board bag with 10mm padding and ripstop protection, now with new upgrades: the zipper is a YKK molded zip, an extra heavy-duty zipper normally only found on travel coffins. One side of the outer layer has been replaced with a strong woven, silver-colored reflective material that keeps the bag cool and is extra durable. The extendable tail-zone, the buckle-free detachable shoulder strap with 3 attachment points, and the wetsuit pocket have remained standard.

This is a serious bag for anyone looking for extra daily protection for their board or wanting to travel light for a focused surf trip. ROAM bags are cut slightly longer, so a bag fits the board it's labeled for: a 6'8 bag will fit any board up to and including 6'8.

About size and shape

Most board bags come in different shapes, adapted to the type of surfboard: Fish, Shortboard, Longboard, and so on. The main difference is in the shape of the nose and the width. In doubt? Choose a board bag with a wider nose: a shortboard will also fit perfectly in a Fish bag, and if you take two boards, extra space is only useful.

A ROAM board bag is made for the surfboard it's labeled for: a 6'8 board fits in a 6'8 bag. If the bag itself is 6'8" long, it's actually a 6'6 bag. Not every brand does this, so always double-check.

Width is also important, especially if you're packing two or more boards.

Also pay attention to the shape of the tail and the presence of a tailbox or extendable fin-zone, so you can put your board in with the fins attached. (Always remove the fins when traveling by plane.)
