ROAM Day Light Shortboard Board Bag
Description
This bag has features not normally found on lighter board bags. The Daylight has 5mm high-density padding throughout, heat-reflective material on the outside, and wax-resistant material on the inside. The carrying handle is generously padded and the strap is buckle-free and detachable for travel. The zipper is significantly longer than most other bags and extends to the handle on one side, making it easy to remove waxy boards. Thanks to the tail darts, you can store your board with or without fins.
These are great bags for everyday use. What's more, ROAM stores its boards in these bags and then puts them together in a coffin bag: extra padding en route, and you'll have a board bag for everyday use as soon as you arrive at your destination. ROAM's bags are cut more generously, so the bag fits the size indicated: a 6'8 bag will fit any board up to 6'8. The cut is slightly wider at the tail than the Tech bag, so you can stuff a wetsuit in or put your board in a board sock for extra protection.

About size and shape
Most board bags come in different shapes, tailored to the type of surfboard: Fish, Shortboard, Longboard, and so on. The main difference is in the shape of the nose and the width. In doubt? Then choose a board bag with a wider nose - a shortboard fits perfectly in a Fish bag, and if you're taking two surfboards, extra space is only useful.
A ROAM surfboard bag is made to fit the board it's designed for: a 6'8 board fits in a 6'8 bag. If the bag itself is 6'8 long, it's actually a 6'6 bag. Not every brand does this, so check carefully.
The width is also important, especially if you're packing two or more surfboards.
Also pay attention to the shape of the tail and whether there's a tailbox or a fold-out fin compartment, so you can pack your surfboard with fins. (Always remove your fins when traveling by plane.)
