ROAM Day Light Funboard Board Bag

This bag has features you don't normally find on lighter boardbags. The Daylight has 5mm high-density padding throughout, heat-reflective material on the outside, and wax-resistant material on the inside. The carrying handle is generously padded, and the shoulder strap is buckle-free and detachable for travel. The zipper extends much further than on most bags, all the way to the handle on one side, making it easy to remove waxed boards. Thanks to the tail darts, you can put your board in with or without fins.

These are ideal bags for daily use. ROAM always puts its own boards in them inside a coffin bag: extra padding for travel, and upon arrival you immediately have a boardbag for daily use. The bags are cut slightly longer, so that a bag fits the board it is labeled for: a 6'8 bag fits any board up to 6'8. The cut is slightly wider at the tail than on the Tech bag, so you can fit a wetsuit or put your board in a board sock for extra protection.

About size and shape

Most boardbags come in different shapes, tailored to the type of surfboard: Fish, Shortboard, Longboard, etc. The main difference is in the shape of the nose and the width. In doubt? Choose a boardbag with a wider nose: a shortboard also fits perfectly in a Fish bag, and if you take two boards, extra space is only useful.

A ROAM boardbag is made for the surfboard it is labeled for: a 6'8 board fits in a 6'8 bag. If the bag itself is 6'8" long, it is actually a 6'6 bag. Not every brand does it this way, so always check.

The width is also important, especially if you are packing two or more boards.

Also pay attention to the shape of the tail and the presence of a tailbox or fold-out fin zone, so you can put your board in with fins. (Always remove fins when traveling by plane.)
