KAI HING’s step-down model, son of the Sunshine Coast, is as fast, free, and fun as they come. Hence the name DRIB, or BIRD backward.

It has all the features you want in an all-out shorty, but packed into a shorter and wider outline, designed to be ridden at least 2” shorter than your conventional shortboard.

A decidedly forward-placed wide point and a lower entry rocker ensure you get into the wave early and are on your feet immediately, with instant speed and acceleration. This curvy and shorter outline also positions beautifully in steeper faces and in the barrel, where longer boards can sometimes be harder to maneuver.

A subtle vee combined with softer bottom rails in the entry makes approaching steeper sections more forgiving and helps with smoother rail-to-rail transitions. From there, the bottom is a combination of subtle single to double concave, resulting in a stable yet super responsive board that can take a beating when you push it hard. Everything flows into a tighter round tail with a slight lift in the exit rocker, for explosive release and incredible control over your direction.

What makes this shape truly unique is its range: it's incredibly fun on half to head-high days, but in stronger conditions, it's a guided missile. This makes this model the ultimate travel companion and a versatile daily driver that suits almost any surfer, in almost all conditions.
