From the stunning Lofoten Islands in northern Norway, along the west coast, past the coasts of Sweden, Denmark, the German islands, the Netherlands and Belgium, Great Britain, Ireland, all the way to the secluded bays of Brittany, the sunny beaches of Andalusia and the Moroccan Atlantic coast: from Tangier in the north to Dakhla in the south, and everything in between. You’ll find stunning photography, information on surf spots, a clear insight into the local scene, places where you’ll love to hang out, eat and stay, great shops, things to do and see, local food facts, tips on staying fit and healthy, and stories from people by the sea.

Why these guides?
Of all those who love the coast, so many are surfing, and their numbers are growing rapidly. In Europe, first- and second-generation surfers are travelling with their families. Fortunately, girls and women are no longer an exception or a rarity in the line-ups.

Filling the gap between excellent surf guides, which provide the hard and fast facts about surf spots, and a dozen traditional guides offering practical and/or historical information, the I Love The Seaside guide caters to people who love the seaside and have a passion for the beach and surfing.

During our research into the need for this guide, we discovered that everyone – from solo female surfers to families and couples – whether they surf or simply love the surf and beach lifestyle – all agreed that something was missing when it came to their needs as coastal travellers.

It features
As well as practical information from like-minded and passionate people, you’ll learn about and read up on the surroundings of your favourite surf breaks. Get to know the area through the eyes of local surfers, artists and designers. Learn about exotic food in a way that you can put into practice yourself – a fun way to improve your surfing skills – and get advice on finding a quirky place to stay, a walking trail, hiring a bike or a horse, attending a yoga class, and where to get your board repaired.
