Hypto Krypto FutureFlex – FCS II 5-fin

The Hypto Krypto strikes a balance between tradition and modern performance. Suitable for both elite and everyday surfers. It is often referred to as the ‘one-board quiver’ due to its versatility in all kinds of surfing conditions – from small 1–3 ft beach breaks to barrels of up to 8 ft.

The board comes with 5 fins for a thruster or quad setup. Haydenshapes surfboards are supplied without fins or fin screws.

The Hypto Krypto remains the most versatile shape in the Haydenshapes range. The outline resembles an old-school twin fin at the nose, and combined with a large amount of volume under the chest, it paddles like a dream and supports acceleration from the front foot.

At the tail, the outline tapers into a rounded pintail, creating plenty of curvature around the back foot. This not only provides plenty of grip in bigger waves, but also allows you to carve tighter turns in the pocket. The foil also tapers to a thinner, pinched rail to keep the board connected to the wave.

The rocker design, which is flat throughout with a little lift at the entry, is geared towards speed, allowing surfers to ride sections they wouldn’t normally expect. The concave runs from a rolled concave at the nose to a slight single concave, transitioning into a double concave at the tail, which gives the board plenty of speed and control from rail to rail.

In short, the Hypto Krypto is an all-round board that lets you ride all over the world and have fun in average conditions, but also chase barrels and ride open faces when the swell is pumping!

As it’s an all-round model, it’s designed to catch more waves in a variety of conditions. It easily generates speed down the line at your local beach break and holds its own when the conditions are right.

Technology

Designed and patented by Haydenshapes founder Hayden Cox, FutureFlex is a rich blend of modern, bespoke materials and cutting-edge design innovation for high-performance surfing. The construction combines a stringer-less, high-density custom-made EPS core laminated with biaxial fibreglass, epoxy resin and a parabolic carbon fibre frame. The carbon fibre frame within the laminate is key to the performance vitality of the overall product. FutureFlex is designed to maximise speed and drive whilst minimising twist. It stores energy and releases it as the surfer carves through the turn.
