Overview

Designed by Dan Mann, the new 2020 Firewire template is an all-round thruster set with hints of twin-fin characteristics.
Suitable for most Firewire models and high-volume surfboards, the full-bodied XL side fins provide exceptional grip and drive off the bottom, whilst the smaller centre fin and unique tip design offer the projection of a twin fin and a surprising amount of release through turns.

Ideal Conditions

A wide range of conditions, particularly good in critical overhead waves.

Board Types

Designed to fit the FCS II Fin System.
High-volume shortboards and hybrid models with wider tails and a shallower rocker.

Performance Core

Performance Core (PC) fins are manufactured using a multi-layered resin transfer moulding process. The flex pattern in PC fins extends progressively from the base to the tip, helping the surfer to maintain drive and grip throughout a turn. This versatile fin material is lightweight and can be used in a variety of different conditions.

Fins featuring AirCore Technology have a pressed polyurethane foam core that mimics the fin’s geometric profile. AirCore technology reduces the amount of fibreglass required in the RTM moulding process, making the fin much lighter whilst allowing complete control over the flex. Carbon is used to complement the fin template.
