The Outlier is a cutting-edge reinterpretation of the most functional displacement hulls from the ‘Shortboard Revolution’. Developed through a collaboration between CJ Nelson and Ryan Engle, this model captures the spirit and feel of the late 1960s in a high-performance, modern chassis. Drawing technical inspiration from the transition-era designs of legends such as Michael Peterson and Nat Young, the Outlier has been specifically designed for speed, flow and direct feedback for the surfer.

Technical Design & Performance Features

• Displacement Hull Geometry: Built as a true speed hull, the Outlier utilises a refined bottom contour that prioritises water displacement for maximum trim speed and a unique ‘slippery’ feel in the pocket.
• Transition Era Evolution: Whilst the design pays homage to historic templates, the rail profiles and rocker have been modernised to eliminate the ‘tracky’ (track-seeking) character of vintage hulls, making it more accessible to the contemporary surfer.
• Functional Versatility: Designed to serve as a one-board travel quiver. The distribution of high volume and the efficient outline ensure the board paddles like a much larger board, whilst retaining the manoeuvrability of a mid-length.
