Big Happy - Futures Thruster

Created by Britt Merrick, and based on the Two Happy performance shortboard, our new Happy Everyday fills a gap in every surfer’s quiver: the everyday shortboard. Following the rave reviews from CI’s Pro Team for the Two Happy, Britt wanted to retain the performance qualities whilst adapting the board to the everyday surfing conditions most of us face. Those conditions where you want to rip hard, but don’t feel like riding a groveler, nor do you have the epic conditions for your high-performance shortboard. To achieve this, Britt has shortened the rails for a curvier outline, particularly around the tail area. The entry and exit rockers have been lowered for better paddling and planing speed across a wide range of conditions. The single concave under the front foot acts as an accelerator, whilst the generous double concave around the fins makes it easier to switch from rail to rail and provides plenty of lift in smaller waves.

DIMENSIONS

The CI Pro Team loves it, and the design was further validated during the recent ‘Stab in the Dark’ event with Taj Burrow in West Oz—not only because of how it looked under his feet, but also because he chose to use it as his wildcard for the WSL Rottnest Islands event.
