CI is a dedicated organization focused on rider-driven products and the production of the best possible equipment. Located in a state-of-the-art facility a stone's throw from Rincon Del Mar, the CI headquarters forms a foundation for developing, testing, and building boards while also providing many years of work in Santa Barbara.

Channel Islands Surfboards was founded in 1969 by Al and Terry Merrick. From birth, Britt spent his days in the factory by the beach in Santa Barbara. Eventually, he began shaping alongside his father Al in 1990. He is now the leading designer and shaper for CI and continues the family tradition of developing high-performance board designs that work with the world's greatest surfers. From Tom Curren to Dane Reynolds, Channel Islands continues to evolve with the highest standard of surfing.
