Britt Fish Fin (BFF)

Each new CI board design is made with a specific fin template in mind. Sometimes we’ll use an existing CI fin that we know will work perfectly; other times we’ll create something new when the need arises. We spend months, sometimes years, refining the fins for a new model so that our customers and team riders can get the maximum performance out of their board. CI’s new BFF (Britt Fish Fin) is the latest fin template to emerge from this ongoing design process, providing the best fin pairing with a new board model.

The BFF is a modern classic keel fin custom designed for our new Feb’s Fish. During the initial R&D sessions for the Feb’s Fish, the AMK and BMT were tested. The AMK offered plenty of straight-line speed but felt a bit over-finned in tight turns. The BMT did not seem to offer enough surface area for stability and drive, and perhaps a more subtle tip could provide smoother turns. To solve this issue, Britt rounded the tip of the AMK and, with some other adjustments, further perfected the outline. The result is a beautiful, balanced fin that is both fast and turns well.
