Britt Fish Fin (BFF)

Every new CI board design is created with a specific fin template in mind. Sometimes we use an existing CI fin that we know will work perfectly; other times we create something new when the need arises. We spend months, sometimes years, refining the fins for a new model, so that our customers and team riders can get the maximum performance out of their boards. CI’s new BFF (Britt Fish Fin) is the latest fin template to emerge from this ongoing design process, providing the best fin combination for a new board model.

The BFF is a modern classic keel fin tailor-made for our new Feb’s Fish. During the initial R&D sessions for the Feb’s Fish, the AMK and BMT were tested. The AMK offered plenty of speed in a straight line, but felt a little over-finned during tight turns. The BMT didn’t seem to offer enough surface area for stability and drive, and perhaps a more subtle tip could ensure smoother turns. To solve this problem, Britt rounded off the tip of the AMK and, with a few other adjustments, further perfected the outline. The result is a beautiful, balanced fin that is both fast and turns well.
