Skate lessons on the boulevard
You won't get any closer to surfing on a skateboard. These skateboards with loose trucks give you the feeling of surfing on the street. During a surf skate lesson, you will learn the technique of making turns, just like in surfing. Thanks to this technique, you give the skateboard speed. As a beginner, you start with the basics. Our experienced skate instructor will take you to the boulevard and teach you both the theory and practice.

- Surfskate lesson: With our special surfskates, you'll learn how to generate speed by 'pumping' and how to make deep turns. It's the ultimate training to improve your surfing technique while cruising the boulevard.
- Longboard lesson: Do you prefer speed and stability? Then choose a longboard. Our instructors will teach you how to maintain your balance on these longer boards, how to brake safely, and how to comfortably cover long distances.

Skate lessons in De Pool (private)
Do you already have experience with surfskating and are you ready for the next step? Then book a Surfskate lesson in the bowl. In small groups, you'll enter our own bowl and learn all about maintaining your line, pumping at the right moment, making turns, generating speed, etc. The instructor will adapt the lesson to your level; for example, you can practice dropping in, or carefully make your first pumping movements on a slanted wall.

Is a swimming certificate mandatory for participating in a surf lesson at Hart Beach?
Yes, to participate in a surfing or SUP lesson, you must have a swimming certificate.
How do I log in to my surf school account?
For the surf school, we use a different system than the webshop. Click on this link to log in if you have surfed with us before.
Where are you located and where can I park?
Hart Beach Surfschool is located on Scheveningen beach, on the north side of the pier at the southern end of the Boulevard. Address: Strandweg 3B, 2586 JK Scheveningen.
There is a Q-Park to be found on Strandweg.
On sunny days and weekends, it can be busy. For an up-to-date overview of parking options, we refer you to The Hague's parking information.
Until what time can I surf and what time do you close?
Hart Beach is open 365 days a year, from 8:30 AM until sunset. This means you can rent equipment from us up to one hour before sunset. On very good days, we sometimes open earlier; you can find this information on our Instagram and in our WhatsApp community.
How do I know if the class is going ahead?
Lessons are dependent on the waves and the weather. We always confirm all lessons one day in advance via email. If you have any doubts, please contact us at 070-3502591 or surfschool@hartbeach.nl.
Are you open in winter as well?
Indeed - we are open 365 days a year! In fact, in winter, the waves are often better and more beautiful than in summer. No excuse to stay home!
Are the lockers free?
The lockers are free if you bring your own lock. If you don't have a lock, you can buy one at the counter for €5.00.
Do you have showers and changing rooms? Can I use these even if I bring my own equipment?
We have changing rooms with showers and lockers. These are primarily intended for guests of the surf school and the restaurant. Do you have your own surf equipment? Then enjoy a snack or drink at our restaurant – that way you'll also be one of our guests! 😊
