Sports day at the beach
Are you looking for an unforgettable day for your class? Trade the gym for the beach and the surf! At Hart Beach, we organize a sports day where teamwork, pushing boundaries, and especially a lot of fun are central.
Gym class by the sea
Hart Beach is a surf school with over 50 years of experience in teaching children, teenagers, and adults. We offer beach and water activities all year round.

Surf program
Prices per child
✔️ 1 hour: € 12.00
✔️ 1.5 hours: € 12.50
✔️ 2 hours: € 15.00
In this program, students receive structured lessons over a 4-week block. The curriculum is designed to ensure that students ultimately gain significantly more knowledge and skills in and of surfing. Should there be no waves, it will be decided in consultation with the instructor to go stand-up paddleboarding (SUP), longboarding, or to reschedule the lesson.
Program
SURF LESSON 1
1. Independently catch a wave in the water and stand up
2. Brake and dismount safely
3. Participate in the surf lesson safely
SURF LESSON 2
1. Account for currents and stay in the correct position in the water
2. Surf straight to the beach
3. Account for surf rules and safety in the water
SURF LESSON 3
1. Independently find a safe surf spot
2. Go through waves by pushing through and/or turtle roll
3. Basic reading of unbroken waves
4. Steering, bottom turn, surfing down the line
SURF LESSON 4
1. Paddle out to the right spot and get through the break
2. Catch unbroken waves and surf down the line left and right
Other beach activities
In addition to our specialty of surfing, we also offer skateboarding, powerkiting, Expedition Hart Beach, and beach/foot volleyball during sports days and school trips.
To complete the experience, these activities can be combined with food, and we are happy to discuss the possibilities.

Is een zwemdiploma verplicht bij deelname aan een surfles bij Hart Beach?
Ja, bij deelname aan een surf- of SUP-les moet je in het bezit zijn van een zwemdiploma.
How do I log in to my surf school account?
For the surf school, we use a different system than the webshop. Click on this link to log in if you have surfed with us before.
Where are you located and where can I park?
Hart Beach Surfschool is located on Scheveningen beach, on the north side of the pier at the southern end of the Boulevard. Address: Strandweg 3B, 2586 JK Scheveningen.
There is a Q-Park to be found on Strandweg.
On sunny days and weekends, it can be busy. For an up-to-date overview of parking options, we refer you to The Hague's parking information.
Until what time can I surf and what time do you close?
Hart Beach is open 365 days a year, from 8:30 AM until sunset. This means you can rent equipment from us up to one hour before sunset. On very good days, we sometimes open earlier; you can find this information on our Instagram and in our WhatsApp community.
How do I know if the class is going ahead?
Lessons are dependent on the waves and the weather. We always confirm all lessons one day in advance via email. If you have any doubts, please contact us at 070-3502591 or surfschool@hartbeach.nl.
Are you open in winter as well?
Jazeker — we zijn 365 dagen per jaar geopend! Sterker nog, in de winter zijn er vaak betere en mooiere golven dan in de zomer. Geen excuus om thuis te blijven!
Are the lockers free?
De lockers zijn gratis als je je eigen slot meeneemt. Heb je geen slot, dan kun je er één kopen aan de balie voor €5,00.
Hebben jullie douches en kleedkamers? Mag ik hier ook gebruik van maken als ik mijn eigen spullen heb?
We have changing rooms with showers and lockers. These are primarily intended for guests of the surf school and the restaurant. Do you have your own surf equipment? Then enjoy a snack or drink at our restaurant – that way you'll also be one of our guests! 😊
